Financial Aid :

Sikkim Manipal University understands that many individual skip their studies because of their financial condition and inability to manage time between responsibilities. Taking this into consideration, this universities offers different types of scholarships and EMI options, so that individual can lower their financial burden and choose the most suitable program. Following is the list of scholarships, which is granted by this university: 

• Merit-Based Awards:

  • Undergraduate Programs: 

    • A discount of 15% is available to students with 80% and above aggregate in class XII.

    • A discount of 10% is available to students with an aggregate in class XII of between 75%-80%.

  • Postgraduate Programs:

    • 20% concession: this is for those students who scored over 75 % / CGPA 7.5 in their qualifying exam.

    • 10% concession: students whose percentages are between 68-75 % /CGPA 6.5 - 7.5.

• Concessions for Differently Able / Divyang Students:

  • 40% Concession for Differently Abled Students with disability percentage between 40% – 75%.

  • 50% Tuition Fee Scholarship for Differently Abled Students with disability percentage above 75%.

• Special Scholarships for SAARC & International Students: For SAARC National students, 20% concession on course fee turned out to be more beneficial. From other foreign countries are to be given various scholarships depending on the level of merit.

• Government Nominated Scholarships: Students from the Government of Sikkim and sponsored by them can avail of over 75% tuition fee scholarship awards as Committed Merit Scholarships. Sikkim residents who are not government-nominated can avail remission based scholarships to the tune of 40%.

• Income-Based Scholarships: Also, scholarships and concession up to Rs.8 Lakhs are available for students from economically weaker sections of society subject to recommendations from the Institute’s scholarship committee regards the annual income of both parents being less than Rs. 8 lakh.

• Lateral Entry Candidates: A fee waiver may also be available to candidates who qualify for lateral entry into the B.Tech programs with a diploma.

• Documentation Requirements: For the effective management of these scholarships, students are expected to submit requisite documents ie. income certificates, marksheets, and disability proof where appropriate.
