MIT SDE holds exams twice a year, in January and July, so that students can schedule their exams along with their academic or professional commitments. To pass, students need to get a mark of at least 50% in both the internal and the external assessment.

Students have two quizzes per subject in the form of MCQs through the LMS. The quizzes will be 30 marks each, totalling 60% of the total weightage. Both quizzes are compulsory to appear on the final exam.
