CUET UG Eligibility Criteria 2027

To be eligible for the CUET UG exam, a candidate should have completed Class 12 or an equivalent examination, or be appearing for the 12th exam in the same year. 

• There are no age-limit criteria for the CUET exam. However, you must check the age criteria of the preferred university or institution before enrolling.
• You should be applying from India. However, several universities also accept NRI, OCI, and PIO candidates.

The CUET exam eligibility criteria are divided into two phases, including 

• NTA-based eligibility, which is required to appear in the exam. OR
• University-based eligibility, which is required for admission and counselling.

• The Class 12 final exam from a recognized central or state board such as CBSE.
• Intermediate or two-year Pre-University exams conducted by a recognized board or university.
• Two-year Joint Services Wing course at the National Defence Academy.
• Class 12th from NIOS with a minimum of 5 subjects.
• Any public school, board, or university exam in India or abroad, recognized as equivalent to 12th class by AIU, UGC, or any agency notified by MoE.
• Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
• A minimum of 3 years of diploma from an AICTE-recognized institute or a state board of technical education.
• General Certificate of Education exam from London, Cambridge, or Sri Lanka at the Advanced (A) level.
• High School Certificate from Cambridge University or IB Diploma from International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva. 
• Class 12 or its equivalent from abroad or from the above-mentioned board should submit a certificate from UGC.
• If the Class 12 exam is not a public exam, then you must have passed at least one public exam earlier.

BHU CUET UG Eligibility Criteria

BA Hons	Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate. Major/Minor in Economics; the candidate must have studied Mathematics in Class 12th. Age: Maximum of 22 years on 1st July 2026.
B.Com Hons	Passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with Commerce/ Economics/ Maths/ Computer Science/ Finance/ Financial Markets Management/ Vocational Courses (related to commerce) as one of the subjects  A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and must have passed in the concerned subject. B.Tech	Passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with PCM or  PCMB with English from a Board/University recognized by the Institute/ Board  At least 50% marks or equivalent GPA in aggregate. Age: Between 17 years and 25 years on 1st July 2026

Jamia Millia Islamia University CUET UG Eligibility Criteria

CUET PG Eligibility Criteria

To get admission into postgraduate courses across participating universities, you must fulfil the CUET PG eligibility requirements as mentioned below:

• Candidates who have passed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent examination from a recognized institute or university are eligible for the exam.
• You can also apply if you are in the final year of your graduation.
• No age restriction is applicable. However, you need to confirm the age criteria of the preferred university.
• To apply for the exam, you must be a resident of India or a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan.
• Foreign national candidates (OCI or PIO) are also eligible for CUET PG.

University of Hyderabad CUET PG Eligibility

MBA	Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade from any recognized University. Should have studied Mathematics in Class 12th.  Those who studied Mathematics/ Statistics / Computer Science/ Data Science/ Business Analytics/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning in Graduation are eligible for the program.
MA Economics	A Bachelor’s degree in Economics with at least 50% marks in aggregate and at least 50% marks in Economics or Bachelor’s degree with at least 60% marks in any of the allied subjects viz. Commerce, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or any of the Social Sciences subjects.
MPH	Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Dentistry, AYUSH, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Nutrition, Pharmacology, Veterinary Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences, or any other science degree.  Degree holders in arts and humanities with an interest in Public health are also encouraged to apply.  A minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying bachelor’s degree is required.
M.Ed	At least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in B.Ed, BA B.Ed, B.Sc B.Ed, B.El.Ed, or D.El.Ed with a bachelor’s degree with 50% marks.
M.Sc Chemistry	B.Sc with a minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate of PCM.

JNU CUET PG Eligibility

MA Economics	Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate and Economics as a main subject.  Mathematics at the 10+2 level is compulsory.
MA Political Science	Minimum of 3 years of bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in Social Sciences and Humanities and 55% marks in Science & Technology disciplines.
M.Tech CSE	Master's degree in Computer Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Operational Research/any branch of Science/ MCA/ Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering/ Technology with at least 55% marks.

CUET Subject Selection Guidelines

CUET UG allows you to choose subjects independently of what you have studied in Class 12, giving you flexibility to pursue a program outside your academic background. Here’s what you need to do before choosing your subjects.

• Max 5 subjects allowed: You can choose up to five subjects, including 13 languages, 1 general aptitude test, and 23 domain-specific subjects, from a total of 37 subjects.

• No restriction based on Class 12th stream: You can select any subject or language irrespective of Class 12th subjects. For example, a commerce student can choose Physics or Political Science if their target program requires it.

• University-specific subject requirement: Before selecting subjects, check the exact subject combination required for your selected course and university.

• Can’t modify subject choice: Once selected during registration, the subject combination can not be changed. 

• Language: The language subject affects your question paper medium. It can not be changed later once selected.

CUET PG is a single-subject entrance exam aligned with the master’s program you wish to pursue.
